Once you have chosen your place, reach out to me at teresa@teresaoconnor.com, and we will schedule a time to begin our conversation about your place, and your visions for the piece. During our conversation I’d love to hear about your experiences, memories, and various qualities of your place.

Our collaboration begins

The next step is a site visit. We can meet there together, or I can visit on my own - whichever you prefer. During my time there - observing the light, colors, and botanical forms and textures - I begin gathering light and forms (through cyanotype and photography), and pigments (soil, clay, rocks, botanicals) to work either in situ, or back at my studio.

I transform the gathered pigments and botanicals into dyes, inks, and paints to uncover a palette of your place.

Once the forms, light, and color palette reveal themselves, I create and send you a small, handmade booklet for you to keep and reflect on.

Our conversation continues

After you’ve taken some time to reflect, we’ll have another conversation to refine our collaborative vision for your piece.

Are there particular colors and forms that resonate more strongly with you? Is the tone and mood of your place reflected in the imagery and palette?

Final artworks

In my studio, I will continue to refine 3 pieces toward our shared vision. Each piece will contain variations in composition, color, form and texture. When finished, I will share all 3 pieces with you, and you may choose one (two, or all three). The piece(s) will be prepared and shipped directly to you to enjoy.
