We all hold places in our hearts that carry significance and meaning for us.

What if your place could become an art piece created just for you or a loved one?

Perhaps it is your own garden that you’ve spent years cultivating, or a park where you take your children everyday, or a wildish place where you sit and engage in quiet reflection.

Every place contains within it rich and varied sources of color, pigment, texture and light; memory, story, and embodied experience.

How it works

Choose your place

We begin with a conversation about your chosen place - your experience with it, memories, reflections, qualities - whatever you’d like to share with me.
Our collaboration begins

I will come and visit your place and spend some time there absorbing the landscape, taking photographs, capturing botanical forms and light, and respectfully gathering pigments.
Studio alchemy

Depending on the location, I may work in situ, or bring the gathered samples of color and light back to my studio (in my garden) to transform into inks and paints.
Further refining

Our conversation continues as we refine together a vision for your piece that holds the mood, tone and color palette of your place.
Artworks emerge

As pieces develop, I will share my progress with you in the form of photographic images, and color swatches, all brought together in a small handmade booklet for you to keep and reflect on.
Final pieces

As a result of our collaborative process, 3 final pieces will be yours to choose from. You may choose 1, 2, or all 3!
